Departure times and routes

9am Long Route: This route is 61km through Hertfordshire and fairly hilly.https://www.strava.com/routes/12220294 Return route 29km https://www.strava.com/routes/16295808 Total ride distance: 90km This route will not have an official leader and you will need to be able to navigate the route and potentially lead. If we do not have adequate numbers for this route, the group may be merged with the medium route.

9.15am Medium Route: This route is 44km and follows a similar path to the long route through Hertfordshire and also taking in several hilly sections. https://www.strava.com/routes/16291838 Return route 29km https://www.strava.com/routes/16295808 Total ride distance: 73km This route will not have an official leader and you will need to be able to navigate the route and potentially lead. If we do not have adequate numbers for this route, the group may be merged with the long route riders.

9.30am Short Route: this is a 29km route, more direct than the long and medium although still with a handful of hills. I will be leading this route and this will be for riders who prefer a shorter distance, are new/newish to group rides or for those who have not yet mastered GPS use or navigating. It will be my pleasure to lead you and if you have any questions, please let me know.

Return Train Option

The return train will run from Brookman's Park to King's Cross via Finsbury Park. Trains depart at 16 and 46 minutes past the hour and the fare is £7.60. Please keep in mind that train journeys have been susceptible to strikes in recent weeks. There are no planned strikes for Sat 21st but please, when choosing your routes, ensure you're able to manage the return ride as a contingency in case trains do not run.

The aim of the day is to have a safe and enjoyable ride and a delicious, festive and social lunch stop. As mentioned above, if we do not have enough riders in the long/medium route groups, I may need to merge them. If you are concerned about leading a ride, please do not be. If you can use a GPS, you will be more than fine leading a ride. Riders are always grateful for leader volunteers and will not judge you but will be inspired, hopefully, to follow in your footsteps and learn to navigate for their next ride.

Looking forward to see you on Saturday,

Amy
